Grindex pumps bedrock for more trains

Dewatering a big tunnelling project demands both reliable dewatering pumps and a well planned sedimentation system. This case study from the Swedish railway project Ådalsbanan shows a good example of this. Read the Ådalsbanan case story...

Pumps for new housing in Stockholm

Grindex new series of dewatering pumps are designed to last three times longer in abrasive applications compared to previous pump generations. In this case study from Sweden, they are up for a tough test. Read the Oden case story...

Extending maintenance interval despite harsh condititons in coal mine

Harsh conditions, that is what characterizes most coal mines' operations. The challange presented to Sidrasul Brazil by a mine in the Santa Catarina region, was pumping excess water from extraction, with a pH between 2.5 and 3.5 with moderately abrasive coal particles ranging from 0.5 to 4 mm. The mine has a depth of 66 meters and a total extension of 600 meters. Read the coal mine case story...

Superior abrasion resistance demanded by sump cleaning

Acquired by a open pit mining company located in the Minas Gerais province for a slurry application (up to 60% solids concentration) in a sedimentation sump, the Grindex Bravo 60 pump lived up to its name, proving it's the ideal solution for a wide range of similar installations. Pumping 50 liters/second of extremely acid water in a copper mine

The green colour in the extremely acid water, pH 3, is a result of the high copper content. The mine is interested in reclaiming that copper instead of just sending the water to the treatment plant. Read the copper mine case story...

Inox in a Landfill

For collection and transport of leachate, landfill sites are using various types of pumps. Grindex electrical corrosion resistant pumps provide the volume needed where pneumatic pumps and other submersibles pumps fall short. One of the landfills in Illinois has 18 Grindex corrosion resistant pumps in operation and they now have plans to replace all remaining submersibles with Grindex INOX pumps. How to drain 37 million of liters of water in just 14 hours

Trollhätte canal, located in the Southwest part of Sweden, has a difference in altitude of 44 meters, handled by six locks. One single lockage demands 8000-12000 m3 of water. In May 2009, the lock system was closed down for maintenance and repair; this required four of the locks to be drained and kept dry for four days. Grindex pumps in the sizes Matador and Maxi were rented for the task. During 14 hours, a total of over 37 millions of litres of water were drained away. Read the lock system case story...
